Spring Texas Man Arrested For Wife’s Murder This Morning
Monday, May 17th, 2010Spring Texas – According to Harris County public arrest records Michael A. McDougall of Spring, Texas was arrested on Monday May 17th, 2010, and charged with capital murder. Bail was denied at his arraignment.
His wife Jennifer E. McDougall was shot numerous times, and as she was six months pregnant, the unborn child did not survive the attack. Their three children allegedly saw their father murder the mother. McDougall told someone after the incident that “She had it coming”, when questioned about why he allegedly shot her.
Detectives said the witnesses in the area heard the gun shots, and screaming early Sunday morning. Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested the husband at their home, and a pistol was recovered at the crime scene. Currently no motive has surfaced for the brutal assault on the pregnant mother.
Child Protective Services along with the assistance of their school nurse have relocated the three surviving children at various neighbors’ homes in the area.
The family had only relocated from the Denver, Colorado area just about a year ago.
In two thousand five, a study by the Journal of Public Health found that murder was the cause of death among pregnant women the United States from 1991 to 1999.
