How To Lose Weight Fast in Spring Texas
Friday, July 31st, 2009Almost all of us fight being over weight these days – and when it get’s out of hand we want to know how to lose weight fast because we let ourselves go to the point of desperation. There is no secret weight loss plan or surgery or pill that works for a life time – almost all weight loss plans are short-term solutions to a long-term problem.
If you work in a office all day – planted in a chair – snacking, drinking soda, and having a pizza delivered then you are going to gain weight – It’s inevitable – There are people who are the exception to the rule and will always be skinny no matter what – You are not them – and they don’t have the answer – it’s just the way they are made.
You can look at this as being a victim of advertising – the great restaurants we have here in The Woodland Spring Texas area – or just the convenience of junk food available at every turn.
I love the quote that Richard Simmons gave in a interview a long time ago – The question: “What is your secret to success?” – Mr. Simmons’ answer: “Keep Moving Eighty-Percent of the Time”. If we did this you would not be looking at a article on how to lose weight fast.
The above of course is not the complete answer in losing weight but it is an important part – and if you work in a environment that doesn’t allow this movement then you would have to spend the majority of your off time doing activities and that would not fit in with all family needs and what is happening in your household on a day to day basis. If you are single, it’s a no brainer – you can work out and do more with your discretionary time.
Another problem we have with managing our correct weight level is that we are programmed to not be moving constantly – sitting in front of the television (it’s like a God that we worship in every room of our homes) – dragging our laptop computers from room to room and surfing the net for hours on end – Texting SMS messages on our cell phones – It all takes away from the fact that the human body needs a lot of physical activity to maintain a normal weight and your good health.
Two hundred years ago most people did not have this problem – Men were hunting and gathering food and supplies to keep their family supported – The women were working a garden, canning vegetables and meats, making clothes, churning butter – The list goes on and on – They worked to stay alive from sun up to sun down. My Mema (grandmother) – was up every morning working in the garden as the sun came up and would do so until about 11 AM everyday six days a week – and she would milk her cow Queen before the sun came up – with the lights on in the barn. Activities abounded her life and she was always in great shape and lived to the ripe age of 94.
Losing weight fast is a knee jerk reaction to a problem that crops up on us – and the real and only way to prevent this is to change our lifestyle once and for all – More activity – Making Healthy Recipes at home instead of eating out – replace your donuts with fruit and vegetables, stay away from soda with sugar and diet soda (they actually make you hungry).
Draw up a plan to reach about your daily physical activities – start out small and increase it weekly until you get there and once you have reached the needed daily goal – then make sure you do it for sixty days straight (sans Sunday – six days a week is enough) – This makes it a habit and you will not want to miss it after that -
Example: Walking – Work your way up to 4 miles every morning before the sun comes up – Start out with 1/2 mile for the first week – 1 Mile the second – 1 1/2 miles the third week – 2 miles the forth – You get the idea – Once you get to walking the four miles everyday – you will then work on your speed and do this one week at a time – until you are walking at a rate of 2.5 to 3 miles per hour (that’s called power walking baby!) – You will naturally want to walk faster as this progresses – it’s just the way we are built.
The Woodlands has great wide walking / running sidewalks through out the community – that go for miles and miles – and trust me you want to do this outside instead of on a treadmill with the A/C blowing on you – it kind of defeats the purpose – We need to sweat.
