Home Business Idea: Selling to Your Neighborhood’s Needs
Twenty or so years ago there was a lady in the area I lived in that was a stay at home mom and was also in business for herself - She baked and sold casseroles to her neighbors who had little or no time to prepare dinner for their families.
Doreen kept it simple - She had five choices of casseroles and the customers supplied their own casserole dish or she sold them one to use in the future. Weekly she would rotate one of the casserole choices to a new recipe so people would not tire of her menu.
She did not deliver them either - Her customers would stop by her house on the way home and pick up their order(s) -
This lady grew quite a client base and after just six months she had to put a hold on new clients - because she ran out of oven space and time to process all of her orders. Doreen did not want to expand her enterprise into a resturant or cafe so she just decided on how many customers she could service and drew a line - She really wanted to stay at home with her children and have quality time with her family.
So as you can see - filling a niche is not to hard to do you just have to keep your eyes and ears open for the right opportunity. Keeping it simple and profitable with good relationships is the key to any great business.
Today it may be tougher to bake and sell food from your home - you made need permits or it may not be legal in some cities. Check around you can find your niche today.
Don’t forget to sell yourself to everyone - Letting everyone know what you do after you find out what they are doing…Networking and Relationships are the quickest way to get to your goal.
